Da Ma Cai have once again embarked on its annual Christmas cheer for the needy through its very own Staff-In-The-Community programme, with members of the staff coming together to provide happiness during the holiday season.
This Christmas, children from Grace Community Services (GCS), Taman Berkeley, Klang had the time of their lives when Da Ma Cai staff volunteers brought them out for a fun movie outing with a lavish lunch and each received a Christmas gift.
The volunteers got the party going by bringing all the children to watch Snoopy & Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie, setting the mood for a fun time. Laughter and chatter of children filled the air at the movie hall throughout the movie as they watched their favourite characters. After a superb morning of activities, the children were treated to a sumptuous Christmas lunch. The merriment ended on a sweet note when the children each received their Christmas gift. The children’s reactions upon receiving their gifts were absolutely priceless.
“My favourite festive season has to be Christmas and I love getting presents,” said Tee Zhe Vei, a 12-year-old from a single parent family.
In the spirit of the season of giving, Da Ma Cai also donated groceries vouchers worth RM6,000 to GCS. The groceries that will benefit the underprivileged families under the Gace Food Bank programme, were presented to Irene J. Dawson, General Manager of GCS
“Thanks to the generosity of Da Ma Cai, the children and the needy families had an extra special Christmas,” she said.
As the volunteers waved goodbye, warm smiles and embraces with the shouts of “Merry Christmas” made the volunteers proud to be associated with this wonderful cause.
